Patient Services at Advanced Pain Management
The staff at Advanced Pain Management and Neurology Group believe that patients deserve the very best in treatment. The clinic does this by applying cutting-edge care to improve the lives of its many patients. The practice is comprised of three major components:.
- Evaluation and Treatment
- Pain Management
The first part of any treatment protocol is the accurate diagnosis and evaluation of underlying health conditions. Dr. Grewal and his staff use advanced testing methods and diagnostic standards to pinpoint the causes of pain. With this information in hand, the medical team can develop treatment strategies tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
Testing at the clinics can include:
- Video Electronystagmography
- Neurological Evaluation and Analysis
- Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyogram imaging
Pain management is at the core of patient services of the Advanced Pain Management clinics. Patients with spinal and musculoskeletal conditions in and around Southern California know that they receive the highest quality in treatment and award-winning compassion.
APM specializes in non-surgical treatments, but also offers minimally-invasive surgical procedures at its outpatient surgery center. Chronic pain arising from trauma, disease, and neglect are diagnosed expertly, then treated with a wide range of options. Some of the common pain management treatment services include:.
- Facet joint injections
- Celiac plexus blocks
- Plasma Rich Protein (PRP) injections
- Stem cell injections
- Epidural steroid injections
- BOTOX administration for muscular spasms and chronic headaches
- Selective nerve root blocks
Treatment strategies are used individually or in combination to produce outstanding patient outcomes. With the help of Dr. Grewal and the staff of APM, patients can lead full lives without the debilitating effects of chronic back and neck pain. In addition to injections and therapies, severe pain cases may sometimes require surgical intervention.
Some of the minimally-invasive surgical treatments offered by the clinical practice may include implantation of specialized devices, including neurostimulation and drug delivery pumps. Each of these devices were designed specifically to treat chronic pain. A neurostimulator is a small electronic device that is programmed to deliver small electrical impulses to the spine through a series of fine wire leads. These electrical signals disrupt pain signals being sent between the patient’s spine and brain, curtailing pain and providing substantial relief. Because the devices are programmable, the patient and his or her physician are able to dial in the exact stimulation level and location to target specific pain centers.
Narcotic or drug delivery pumps are implanted in a patient’s abdomen. A small catheter leads from the pump to the spine, delivering therapeutic doses of pain-relieving medication directly to pain centers. Like the neurostimulation devices, these pumps are programmable to suit the specific pain levels and duration of each patient. Dr. Grewal and his staff have used these innovative devices with great success over the years.
Neurology is the third component of patient services at Advanced Pain Management. Neurological conditions like nerve impingements, degenerative diseases, neurologic disorders, and spinal traumas are typically the underlying conditions that lead to chronic pain. By carefully assessing patients with advanced analysis and diagnostic tools, the team at APM can improve patient outcomes dramatically. This information is vital in developing treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Each patient is different, and each will require specific treatment plans and therapies to achieve results. APM and their staff believe in a highly-personalized approach to patient care. Patients from around the clinic’s service region have come to rely on the expert care and compassionate, patient-oriented diagnosis and treatment plans provided by APM.
